At Woodhull, we are committed to addressing the health care issues important to the people of North Brooklyn. We focus on preventing disease and promoting healthy lifestyles by providing quality care at 15 different sites conveniently located throughout our community.
To meet local needs, Woodhull has developed innovative programs in asthma care, maternal and child health, behavioral health, dentistry, outpatient substance abuse and diabetes. Our Paul Poroski Family Center provides comprehensive care to individuals and families affected by HIV/AIDS. Community awareness of HIV/AIDS is promoted through extensive outreach and education.
To maintain a strong patient base while containing costs, we have adopted an aggressive managed care strategy. In addition to contracting with numerous managed care organizations, we have reduced waiting time in our clinics and made it easier to schedule an appointment. A specially trained triage nurse is available by telephone any hour of the day or night to respond to customers' health care concerns.
